Sinclair/Amstrad Studio 100

This all-in-one audio system brought multi-track recording into the home at a time when DIY music culture was booming. It combined a four-track cassette recorder, radio tuner, turntable, amplifier, microphones and speakers into a single unit—complete with over 50 manual controls for mixing and playback. It reflects a broader shift toward more affordable, mass-market home entertainment systems. Versions were released under both the Sinclair and Amstrad brands following Amstrad’s 1986 acquisition of Sinclair’s computing division, a practice that would raise eyebrows by today’s standards.
