VEGA+
It is pretty hard to talk about this project and object. It was idealized in 2016 for a campaign on Indiegogo and had the aim of running Spectrum games on a truly portable console.
Internal wars that were never truly explained led the directors of Retro Computers to go into litigation and were all taken to court.
The money disappeared, production was a fail and many people lost a lot of money on this project. We were one of those people who never got the Vega+.
A small batch of consoles was produced – never truly finished – and were delivered to some of the project’s supporters. Because they worked so badly – one of the biggest complaints being the sensitivity on the buttons – some were put up for sale on eBay.
In order to never forget this doomed and sad story, we ended up buying one of the devices to display in this exhibit.
It was delivered to the seller just like you can observe here, in a black box with no identifying marks.
