TIMEX TOOLROOM
On this section we showcase three objects that came from Timex’s toolroom.
On top, we have an Argentinian Spectrum, assembled in Portugal: the Czerweny Spectrum, but on a grey colour with a blue and yellow label that was never actually used on the market.
Then, we also have the frame of a TIMEX TS1000 with a label saying TS1500, painted in grey. On the inside is a label with the name and reference of the colour used. We think this might be one of the experiments done to create the TS1500 and/or to control the radiation used for the FCC certification, that was needed for all American computers.
Lastly, we also have on display a TS1500 keyboard, but on a colour we believe was never actually released or marketed. This, alongside other keyboards, came from Asia, according to the packaging of this item and others that were donated to us.
