TIMEX DATALINK WATCH

The Datalink is one of the many watches developed by Timex, but this one has a few technological features that, even though it was not from the same era as the Spectrum, still makes this watch a very special item.

It was considered a wrist computer.

The watch was developed in partnership with Microsoft and released in 1994. In June of the same year, it was revealed by Bill Gates.

This was the first ever device capable of downloading information from a computer and onto its’ own calendar. This feat was accomplished using CRT screens and a special programme (Window 95 and 98) that would format information in bars. The watch had a sensor that could receive that information and record it into an EEPROM.

This device was NASA-certified and was used in space missions.
