TIMEX MEDICAL DEVICES AND NIMSLO

In the early ‘80s, TIMEX was broadening its’ offer beyond its’ famous watches.

One of those areas of diversification was related to medical devices. In 1982, they launched a blood pressure device, the “Timex Healthcheck Blood Pressure Monitor BP-1”. They also released a scale, which is also on display.

Another example of this was an investment made by Fred Olson (Timex’s company owner) on the 3D camera (lenticular printing technology on regular 135mm film), from the Nimslo brand, part of the Nimstec company (Atlanta, USA) and that was produced at the Dundee factory, in Scotland.

According to all this, TIMEX was happy to further broaden the projects it was involved in.
