TIMEX-SINCLAIR TS1500

A very well-known and used computer in Portugal, it was used for many different tasks and purposes, as you will be able to see throughout the exhibition. It was designed for the American market, therefore establishing the beginning of the release of models that deviate from the original Sinclair line.

Even though its’ outer look was similar to the Spectrum (including the rubber keyboard), it still is a black and white computer, a ZX81 with 16KB of built-in memory.

The design of the project was made in the USA, and the model itself was assembled in Portugal. There are two version of the board, marking the evolution of this model. It ised the Gate Arrays technology that had been developed in partnership with INESC.

It was released in 1983, a year after the Spectrum.
