STRANGLER’S K7
This cassette from the British band Strangler (whose biggest it was the song Gold Brown), followed the same directives as the previous record by Pete Shelly.
More than highlighting the album, or the phenomenon of having computer programmes in music records at the time, this cassette is included here to showcase how a project like the one in this museum is a ball of yarn that keeps unravelling and, at the same time, growing with the flowing creativity all around.
What must be retained and preserved here is the story about how the Strangler’s came to Cantanhede’s Expofacic (an event that brings around 500,000 people to Cantanhede, for the duration of 10 days) in 2019 and, being aware that they had an album with a ZX Spectrum track, we contacted them and asked for a simple autograph to showcase next to the album that we had acquired in the meantime. And here it is… dreams do come true!
