SCIENCE OF CAMBRIDGE MK14
Considered to be one of the most important British computers ever produced, it showed the existence of a new market for people like Sir Clive Sinclair and Chris Curry. Chris Curry was the employee that led the project and ended up leaving it due to disagreements regarding the strategy of not continuing the MK-14 production. He later founded ACORN.
The MK14 Microcomputer Kit was released in 1977. With a price point of around £40, it was extremely limited (based on the National Semiconductor SC/MP processor, 256 bytes RAM, hexadecimal keyboard with 20 keys) but still sold around 15,000 units.
